One Year Ago Today...

I received the most precious gift of my life - my Mia! I never knew true happiness until that day. We have had an amazing year, and it is going by way too fast. Thank you, God for blessing me with this precious, beautiful angel. I am beyond proud to be her Mom. I love you my sweet angel!

One Year Ago...

Momma's angel now...
Then...

Exactly one year ago, today, I became a Mom! One year ago today, I received a referral for the most precious little four year old you have ever seen - Guang Hai Qiong. As I think back to this day last year, I remember how nervous I was the entire day. You see, I waited all day for my agency to lock Guang Hai Qiong's file. I tried to be calm and cool, but I was dying inside waiting for the doctor to review her file and give me the thumbs up that all was ok. I can hardly believe that it was a whole year ago. I thank God every day for this little angel he gave me, and yet "thank you" seems so inadequate. This little child has given me more joy than I ever knew was possible. I love you my sweet angel!

Momma's B-day

Well, this thirty something Momma is another year older today. My sweet little angel surprised me with a birthday cake and card when I got home from school last night (thanks to Grandmommy). Mia was soooo excited about Momma's birthday cake, because she got to decorate it, and did a very good job. There is no better gift than the one I got this year - My sweet little angel! Until next time, Peace and Grace to all!

Christmas Day 2009

Christmas Day 2009 - what a gift I got this year!

Poppa reading "The Christmas Story" to all the grandbabies before they opened their gifts.

She was so happy to get a bride Barbie. Mia loves wedding dresses!

What a wonderful Christmas 2009 we had. Santa brought everything Mia asked for, and then some. I have never known such joy as seeing the face of my precious angel on Christmas morning...God is so good! I hope that my little angel stays her same sweet self as she grows up. After opening all her gifts, she came over to me with that sweet little smile, wrapped her arms around my neck and said "Momma, thank you for my presents." It just doesn't get any better than that! Until next time, Peace and Grace to all!

Christmas 2009

I know it has been so mong since my last post, but my life as a single Mom to a five year old, a fulltime employee, and a fulltime college student is BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!! Mia had a wonderful first Thanksgiving in America, even though it was two days post-op for having tubes placed and her adenoids removed. My little angel did so well with her surgery, but I hope that I NEVER have to let anyone take my baby from me again - that was the most traumatic thing I have ever been through in my life - my baby screaming "Momma, no, I want you..." as they wheeled her into surgery, and Momma crying as much as she was...not good. But, she did so very well and by the evening, you would have never known that she had surgery that morning. As far as Thanksgiving Day went, it was great as usual. We spent the day at my aunt's(PheePhee) house, and Mia got to play with her cousins, which she loves. My girl even ate cornbread dressing(it's a Southern thing for all my Yankee frinds!) - I was so proud! For those of you that know her, she is the pickiest eater I have ever seen in my life. She may eat something one day, and then the next day she won't touch it...thank goodness for corn is all that I can say, thank goodness for corn...ha!

We can hardly wait for Christmas to get here. Mia really had a ball decorating our tree Thanksgiving night. You know that a child has changed your life when you no longer worry about all your ornaments being on the tree in an exact symmetrical fashion, now you just love the fact that those sweet little five year old hands were there to put everything at the bottom...ha! This has been the best Christmas season that I have ever had, so far. I can only imagine what Christmas morning will be like! Mia has asked Santa for a piano, a microphone, a watch, a babydoll and "that's all", according to Mia. Santa has really been busy, and has gotten almost all her requests made, at least that's what he told me when I talked to him. I promise to work better at updating more often. Until next time, Peace and Grace to all!!

Halloween

My little ballerina had a wonderful Halloween. She got lots of candy (more than either of us need)! It was so exciting and wonderful to see her have so much fun with her cousins tick or treating.

I also got to attend Mia's first school Halloween party on Friday, and since I took the day off, I ate lunch with her at school - she was sooo excited!! Mia told everyone she saw "this is MY Momma" - well this Momma almost lost it right there - it was the sweetest thing. God blesses me more and more everyday with this little angel. Seeing the world through the eyes of a small child is the most fantastic view - I love it!! Until next time, Peace and Grace to all!!
