Christmas 2009

I know it has been so mong since my last post, but my life as a single Mom to a five year old, a fulltime employee, and a fulltime college student is BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!! Mia had a wonderful first Thanksgiving in America, even though it was two days post-op for having tubes placed and her adenoids removed. My little angel did so well with her surgery, but I hope that I NEVER have to let anyone take my baby from me again - that was the most traumatic thing I have ever been through in my life - my baby screaming "Momma, no, I want you..." as they wheeled her into surgery, and Momma crying as much as she was...not good. But, she did so very well and by the evening, you would have never known that she had surgery that morning. As far as Thanksgiving Day went, it was great as usual. We spent the day at my aunt's(PheePhee) house, and Mia got to play with her cousins, which she loves. My girl even ate cornbread dressing(it's a Southern thing for all my Yankee frinds!) - I was so proud! For those of you that know her, she is the pickiest eater I have ever seen in my life. She may eat something one day, and then the next day she won't touch it...thank goodness for corn is all that I can say, thank goodness for corn...ha!

We can hardly wait for Christmas to get here. Mia really had a ball decorating our tree Thanksgiving night. You know that a child has changed your life when you no longer worry about all your ornaments being on the tree in an exact symmetrical fashion, now you just love the fact that those sweet little five year old hands were there to put everything at the bottom...ha! This has been the best Christmas season that I have ever had, so far. I can only imagine what Christmas morning will be like! Mia has asked Santa for a piano, a microphone, a watch, a babydoll and "that's all", according to Mia. Santa has really been busy, and has gotten almost all her requests made, at least that's what he told me when I talked to him. I promise to work better at updating more often. Until next time, Peace and Grace to all!!

Oh my gosh what great pics of Mia! I laughed out loud at Mia's Santa list because Ella is requesting a piano, microphone and computer and "that's it"! Too funny. So glad Mia's surgery went so well! Wishing you both a great Holiday!
